Updates to Smart Carts and Signout Equipment

ITMS adds Dell Netbook Mini/Projector combo kits for use in the classroom

ITMS has purchased several Dell Latitude 2100 Netbook Mini pcs for use in the classroom. These lightweight units have been combined with a portable xga projector for use in classrooms without projectors. (Please note there are no CD/DVD drives in these units)

Camtasia Relay Upgraded for Lecture Capturing

Camtasia Relay is classroom capturing software that allows you to capture your computer desktop and record your lectures for later viewing through ITunes or other online options by your students. Version 1.1 offers some minor usaability changes. NJIT has a site license for this software, and if you are interested in capturing your classroom instruction, please e-mail instruction@njit.edu for assistance.

 

Architecture Library Projector upgrades:

The Architecture library has recieved 6 new portable projector for sign out: 4 Epson 84 LCD projectors, and 2 Dell 5300 WXGA DLP projectors. The may be reserved directly with the arch library using the link below:

Vista/Office 2007 status and Smart Classroom Software Updates

All Smart Carts and sign-out notebook PCs have Windows XP SP3. There are no current plans to deploy MS Vista on these machines.

Office 2007 has been added to the image and is available from the start menu. However. Office 2003 applications will still launch if you double click any office document. To use Office 2007 apps, you must open the document in the program.

There are no current plans to deploy Microsoft Vista on Smart Classroom workstations or notebook PCs.
