What
are Smart Classrooms?
A number of
classrooms on campus have been enabled "Smart
Classrooms." These rooms have the ability to project
a computer image or video image, have powered speakers,
and have access to the NJIT Network. This makes it easier
for instructors to make greater use of technology in the
classroom to support instruction.
Where
are they located?

Delivery of Smart Carts to these rooms is NOT available.

Most
smart classrooms now have a remote control system for
the projector and audio similar to the control panel
shown here. It will be wall-mounted near the instructor's
area.
In Kupfrian
100, a projector is delivered with the cart.
In Weston
Lecture Halls 1 and 2, there are Epson 9100P
SXGA projectors installed. For these rooms, the remote
control will need to be signed out from the Architecture Library on
the fourth floor of the Weston building.

EQUIPMENT
DELIVERY
Smart
Carts are available for delivery to designated rooms
upon request with a minimum of 48 hours notice.
This equipment is limited to these locations for delivery,
and has been purchased to support classroom instruction.
All classrooms in these locations have active ports for
which the PC can be connected to for access to the NJIT
network and the Internet.
ITMS also
has portable LCD projectors and notebook computers available for
use in other locations. Network cards are installed in all notebooks.
Some of the notebooks have built-in wireless cards. Wireless cards
are also available seperately if needed.

SMART
CLASSROOM SOFTWARE
Academic
Computing maintains the software configuration for all
smart classroom PC's. Instructors wishing to install
additional software on a machine must make prior arrangements
to do so. Certain other configuration options on the
machines will also be disabled for security reasons.
